Our range of reds from Domaine Rotier, AOC Gaillac.
Domaine Rotier is one of the leading lights of the entire Gaillac region and wines from the 35-hectare estate belonging to Alain Rotier can now be found on wine lists of Paris restaurants and beyond. The soil is 'graves' with plenty of big round pebbles called 'galets' normally found in river beds. These help maintain warmth in winter and keep the vines cool in summer. Alain Rotier is justifiably proud that he was one of the first Gaillac winemakers to rediscover the excellence of the 'loin de loeil' grape, ignored for many years and now currently enjoying something of a revival. It is the 'loin de l'oeil' grape also know as 'len de l'el' that forms the basis for his best-known wine - the Renaissance sweet white which has achieved exceptional renown worldwide. The Renaissance range also includes an oak-raised red and a crisp dry white at the very top of their league.
