Owner of Domaine du Mioula, Bernard Angles, is not your typical type of winemaker following in a long family tradition. Bernard, a passionate devotee of Marcillac wines, simply wanted to make the best wine possible so he bought the vineyard in 1994. Since then, Domaine du Mioula has developed a reputation as possibly being the very best vineyard in the entire Marcillac region and produces a range of wines typical of the area but also boasting a finesse often reserved only for wines of excellence.The tiny 4-hectare estate lies on the steep Aveyron hillsides. The fiery red soil is perfect for cultivating the unique Mansois grape, also known as Fer Servadou. The Mansois grape and the iron-rich soil combine to produce outstanding Marcillac wines which are also renowned for their healthy blood-thinning qualities.
