Domaine Rotier, Renaissance red, 2014, raised in oak.

Duras, Braucol and Prunelard.

Région:

Gaillac AOC

Perhaps the 'signature' red of Gaillac wines in this price range. The Rotier 'Renaissance' can be found on the wine lists of many of the best restaurants in Albi and Toulouse.

Aged for one year in French oak barrels, it was bottled on the 24th and 25th of March, 2015.

In its youth, it is dark purple in colour with notes of cassis and cherry mingled with notes of liquorice, pepper and other spices. It is full and rich on the palate with good tannic structure and a delicately fruity finish.

This wine will go very well with lamb or game as well as marinated red meats. It will keep in a goood cellar for 10 - 12 years.

Medals and Awards: Concours des Vins de Gaillac 2016; Silver Medal winner.
