Winemaker, Lionel Boutié, at Ricardelle de Lautrec has very successfully taken popular grape varieties from other regions to produce excellent wines in the Pays d'Oc. As the vineyard is just a few miles from the coast, the warm mediterranean climate allows the vines to open fully and so the grapes reach their full maturity.
This organically produced Chardonnay is a pale gold colour with aromas of peach, vanilla and honeysuckle. The warm climate means it tends more towards tropical fruit than citrus flavours. Outstanding in apéritif, it will also match perfectly with seafood and goat's cheese.
Interestingly, much of this wine is actually sold back to clients in Burgundy - the home of Chardonnay - some endorsement!
