It's hard to introduce this classic Picpoul without mention that it's a favourite of former French President, Nicolas Sarkozy. It was this very wine that was selected for guests at his inauguration party at the Elysée palace in 2008.
Shimmering yellow with green highlights, it is floral and enticing on the nose with intense aromas of exotic fruit and citrus. The well-rounded attack gives way to a crisp, almost salty minerality on the palate which is so typical of the terroir.
Match this with the classic oysters combination, mussels, seafood, fish soups or spicy Asian food. It can equally be enjoyed simply in apéritif.
